You can hack the articles template as follows:

Edit the ams_articles.html template file in /public_html/modules/AMS/templates/ (or whatever is the path to your AMS templates directory)

Rather than try and explain it I just uploaded my edited file with comments, additionally this is modified to show a social bookmarking button from addthis.com, handy for increasing traffic
